Rides, Food, Entertainment, Parade and Fireworks. This all adds up to a lot of activity for this year's 79th annual Homecoming in East Sparta June 22 through 24. Rides will be the same as last year with advanced ticket sales at $12. Local bands and acts will again grace the bandstand and entertain us. The parade is put on by East Sparta Volunteer Fire Department; step-off will be Friday, June 23, 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 24 will have fireworks at 10 p.m. by a new group.
There will be food, nightly Bingo, the Fire Department nightly prize raffles and local non-profits with games/food/sales and seeing friends. Thanks to all for your continued support. This year's annual Homecoming will have a few new looks. The rides are again from Nolan Amusements which is offering Bargain Times Thursday through Saturday from 610 p.m.
Presale ride tickets will be sold at $12 per night.

Thursday, June 22: 4 p.m. Eat Stand Open; 6 p.m. Bargain Day Rides open until 10 p.m. and Concessions Open; 7 p.m. Announcement of Sparta Little Mr. Prince and Little Miss Princess winners. Friday, June 23: 4 p.m. Eat Stand Opens; 6 p.m. Rides and Concessions Open; 5:45 p.m. Parade Line-Up Begins (Enter Westbrook St.); 7 p.m. Parade East Sparta Fire Dept.; 7:30 p.m. Presentation of Parade Awards (Bandstand); Presentation of Persons of the Year/Lifetime Achievement Award; 8 p.m. Bingo Opens (Pavilion); 8:15 p.m. Breaking Point; 12:00 Midnight Bingo, Midway and Eat Stand Closes; 12 Midnight Fire Department Raffle.

The Persons of the Year are Sue Freitag and Marlene Gray. Both have given many hours of community volunteer hours in their lifetime. They will be in the parade.
Do not forget to volunteer to help. A sandwich and beverage coupon will be given to all eat stand volunteers. Come one, come all. Clean up help is especially needed. Call Marguerite at 330-866-2004 to donate any amount of time.

" Without your support for the past 78 years we would not have the chance to see old friends while meeting new friends. So come to the park and join us.
